I am a kiwi so grew up with no football on TV, I started following Arsenal in 73-74 was the colours and the badge that hooked me, and I actually lived in a suburb called Highbury at the time, thank god we now can watch games but for years got up in the small hours to listen to the BBC second half commentary on our national program Radio station and here the results at the end of the broadcast.

That's a good question. These days I'm not sure anymore.

I've always loved the beautiful game: played it and coach it. arsenal represented the beautiful game.

being American we were (at one point) not afforded the luxury to watch European football when I grew up. but I always had friends from England that I played football with on the weekends. they turned me to arsenal football and have loved it ever since.
cheers!

Grew up in Stoke Newington, when Arsenal scored I could hear the roar from the stadium from my house when they were at Higbury.

Believe me this current iteration of AFC is certainly not by choice, however old school true fans pick a badge and you live with it, blood in blood out.

I always respect Newcastle, Sunderland, Portsmouth fans etc no glory hunters there.

If you don't have a local connection to the club then you pick one and stick with it ........ like a prison gang. lol

Never watched the invincible, never tasted the league champion as a fan.... I chose to support Arsenal because football was fun to watch, youth policy was good at around 2010-11.
Since RVP gone, everything changed.
Just a casual follower these days.

Coincidence. Moved to England (Leeds) in 2003. My dad likes football but he's a neutral. He enjoyed watching Arsenal on the tv because of the way they played so I just picked them just because of that. I wasn't aware that I was making a lifelong commitment but I was young and impressionable. I was probably a few weeks away from becoming a default Leeds United supporter like 95% of my school but the school term hadn't started yet.

Some people think I'm a glory hunter for not supporting Leeds but at the time I moved here I had no connection to them, heck I don't even know if I knew them.

I also wasn't aware o trophies and stuff.
