“Mikel Arteta is set to become the highest-paid manager in Premier League history with the award of a new contract at Arsenal.”

He sure has done a number on Kroenke.

One FA cup 4 years ago and a couple second places and bottle jobs gets you the highest pay.

He must have Moses negotiating the deal for
him.

There is certainly a bit of divine intervention about that pay rise. ;)

So much for non-negotiables.

Arteta controls the club now. We're right back to the Wenger era, without any of the trophies.

Reward for failure

This is such as pussy move by the club. Firstly, he should have been allowed to leave and a new manager given a chance with this squad. Failing that, he shouldn’t have got a pay rise. What does it achieve? If he wins fk all we’re stuck paying his wages and if he does well and does actually win leagues etc then RM etc will still come in for him and he’ll still go.

Kronk and the club by extension have been bent over like a bitch

When Auba got a new deal and his form dropped, the fanboys were at his throat instantly. Will they apply the same benchmark for Arteta? Anything less than a title will be a drop in form.

Fanboys will always defend Arteta and enemyboys will always attack him. That's the fun of it.

And cringey Eboys will always come out with crap like this.

All he has to do is win trophies and the criticism will go away.

Should never get a big payrise or long contract, he needs to win something before anything like this is on the table.

As UFGN has said if someone wants him they’ll come in for him regardless of his contract and if he wants to leave he’ll leave regardless (but he won’t get another cushty job like this one, other clubs will have expectations).

Now we’re probably stuck with him and if he did have a disaster a massive pay off will be on the cards, this club isn’t very forward thinking and is all too happy to reward what is failure in real terms, he’s also a guy who can only navigate one competition a season and needs big breaks to fulfill his plan.

With this new contract we are well and truly fecked over by the beancounters, HTF can they justify rewarding failure?

Clickbait garbage from the worst of the worst sources.

Guardiola earns around £20m/year.

Arteta would have to more than double his current salary to become the League's top earner, which absolutely isn't going to happen.

Correct Zenith. Recently I read somewhere and posted here that his salary might be upgraded to 10 million from 8.8mil in line with other top managers in PL and Euro leagues. Nowhere close to what Guardiola, Simione, Klopp, Tuchel etc makes.
'Might'is the important word.
Rest is all media garbage and eboys on this site laps it up immediately.
