Because that's not what happened.

Get informed or just keep thinking BS in your head.

Emery never said "I don't like Ramsey" what happened is Ramsey's agent wouldn't accept the deal offered which was rumoured to be £170k pw.

The reason he wouldn't accept it is because Ramsey is in his final contract year and could get mega money on a free so he advised Ramsey against taking it, Arsenal knew they wouldn't accept so pulled the deal.

Ramsey panicked and started telling the press he thought they were all ready to sign, but how is that true if they weren't going to accept the offer, maybe AFC said they'd consider upping it but then decided against it, who know's but the fact that Ramsey is getting £300k pw at Juve shows that this was always going to be the outcome.

You have Gazidis and Wenger to thank for letting Ramsey run down his contract, just like they did with Sanchez and a litany of other players.

If we had of offered 200k maybe he would have stayed, end of the day he was never going to accept 170k and get paid less than mkhy FFS.

He is if you take into consideration the cost of replacing him and his market value under contract.

Offering obscene wages per week now is gonna kill us of any decent signings.

Agrred, but then you take into account that other players will then want matching to £200k so it could in theory end up costing you more for not one but two, or three, or four 'not quite at the level we need' players

I do love The Celebrity Killer and I wish he was staying. It just goes to show how greedy agents push up and inflate wages nowadays.

The guy has been a selection headache since 2013 anyway. If you were allowed 12 players on the park Ramsey would be the best player in the world. Alas, you can't and he needs to occupy a position; either #8 or #10. At #8 he's negligent and at #10 you eliminate the most effective part of his game. Ramsey overloads the box he's the last man in, the late runner no one marks because he's coming from deep. Hence why he's never been able to hold down a role. You either risk him leaving you gaping in the middle or you have a #10 who has no idea with his back to goal.

Love the guy for the memories but lets not get overly sentimental he's been hot and cold for his entire time here due to the above. Shame we couldn't get a fee.

Mkhi and Ozil etc were put on those wages before Raul and before Stan got full ownership, seems to me the new directive is to bring these wages down.

Maybe Ramsey's agent was indicating he wanted much more than 170k - 200k? either way its done now, even if we had agreed 200k what's to stop his agent shopping him around, Juve trumps up 300k pw and then we're here anyway?

Fact is we were never going to offer that sort of money and his agent obviously knew he could get that sort of amount.

Its done, time to move on, blame the old regime, they should of re-signed him two years ago.

If we keep him and he helps us to get CL football, then it wouldn't be worth what we could get for him now I'd imagine.

Juve are 9 pts clear, they probably would rather wait and not have to pay I'm sure. Although I've heard they want him now, but doesn't seem like they really need him.

The Gunners' proposed sale of Aaron Ramsey, 28, would meet with the approval of Wales boss Ryan Giggs, who says the midfielder will improve as a player by moving to a "top-class" club like Juventus. (Sky Sports)
