As soon as he was dropped we started scoring a hatful of goals.

I think we had our best month of goal scoring in the league in nearly 60 years as soon as he wasn’t in the team.
When we had him we were not scoring because he can’t hit the target from a yard out.

So you’d trust two defenders who never score goals over a striker who has scored a large amount of goals in his career.
That explains a lot I guess.
