In five seasons, Arteta has signed…
Left backs: 2
Right backs: 3
Central defenders: 4
Goalkeepers: 5
Central midfielders: 4

Yet he tells us we have a small squad and his fanboys say one in and one out, and every club has hits and misses.

We need to change the method in which we go about in transfers, we are simply a joke signing and selling, what ever the bottle neck is in the process internally needs to be exposed this has been going on for years it's holding the club back both in football terms and financial

Never in a million years did I think he would be so wank for us. As for Sterling, I thought he would chip in a few goals and assists, I don't think I have ever seen a player's level fall off a cliff the way it did from his move to Chelsea from City. I put it down to Chelsea being shit, how wrong I was.

But this is why scouting the mental profile of players is equally important as their physical abilities and stats. Something we clearly do not do. And on top of that provide them with hefty paychecks that give them no motivation to prove themselves.

Is it mental? I dunno. None of Sterling's actions strike me as a player with bad or wrong mental fortitude. He said everything correctly when he joined, he wanted to help us take that next step, he would become an instant/overnight Arsenal hero had he been able to help push us to glory.

He has always been level headed and focused, he just has terrible technique. In a team like City with an embarrassment of riches it could be hidden, at a shit Chelsea it got highlighted and at an Arsenal whose attack wasn't functioning it was highlighted again.

2 summers ago it was a nightmare for me, the spectre of "surely we can't sign Havertz" hung over me for the longest time until my worst fears were realised and it was officially announced. Admittedly by April of that season I was ok with the purchase because he actually began to look decent.

Madueke if signed won't be coming from a place of such low expectations as Havertz did, but surely you can find more effective players !! This guy is meh, why are we buying meh players and hoping to compete with the likes of PSG ffs. I can't take much more of this foolishness.

I think we all agree that Madueke is not the player we want and neither was Havertz when the rumours started.
But Havertz worked out pretty well - second half of the 23/24 season he was the leagues best player, probably. We know his level is very high when he hits form.
You just never know. If we sign Madueke, he may fit in great. Football is a lot (mostly) about confidence. The margins between players failing and succeeding are a lot thinner than would be assumed from the binary thinking most fans have - great or shite.

Havertz isn't finished here yet!!!,
He is never going to be fantastic because he is a confidence player with no conscience, by that I mean when he is bad he will gladly go mia, this new Chelsea lad is exactly what Arteta wants players who are surplus on the way down who are not in a situation to ever question what's going on,
Rice is Arteta only huge signing and he is a homegrown, a simple man he looks the type who will run through what ever wall un questioned, there are not many of those about.

That you actually believe that Arteta is searching for players that are 'on their way down' is crazy.
It's just plain weird to think a manager in the PL is going to risk their whole career for the reasons you state.

Not in the slightest AW very seldom if ever went for high ego players why do you think anelka lasted 5 seconds.
Arteta ego has him thinking he can turn all these players around.

Zubi done and now

Arsenal are now getting closer to signing Viktor Gyökeres after new round of talks in recent hours.

Gyökeres will NOT return for training at Sporting as he’s fully focused on leaving the club; Arsenal are now advancing.

Nothing done yet but discussions underway.
