The only reason Mourinho went all out for it is because he had no chance at even reaching top 4.
No top team with a shot at winning the league would make the EL an objective. That'd be silly.
So as the last decade indicates we have no real 'shot' at the league, should we make the EL our objective?
Elite Killer - he is like that guy in the Monty Python film that wants to fight even though he has no legs, no arms or anything, he refuses to give in. You can hit him with all the common sense in the world - he won't see it.
Wenger himself said the last squad was the BEST SQUAD he has ever had, better than the Invincibles - and we finished miles behind Chelsea. So, like you say, it is clear we have no chance at winning the league, lets go for something we can actually win.
FFS, we had our best chance 2 seasons ago when recent league winners like Man City, Man U and Chelsea were all off form - and we still couldn't win. Now Spurs have emerged as a genuine force and Liverpool are coming back to a decent level, Everton will be spending trying to crash the top 4 party, how much chance will Arsenal have with a manager that refuses to see faults with the team and address them ?
