Blame Wenger not Giroud!

Postby Arsenal Tone » Fri Dec 27, 2013 5:41 pm

I have leapt to Giroud's defence on a number of occasions but admit that he is off form and appears to be lacking confidence.

There are a number of people becoming increasingly frustrated and angry at Giroud's performances.

The point of this thread is to remind everyone that it isn't Giroud's fault we don't have anyone to rotate with him when he's off form. It isn't Giroud's fault that is isn't world class like RVP, Higuain or Suarez.

It is Wenger's fault for not signing a striker in the summer. Yes he 'tried', but ultimately he failed. So before you come online to vent your frustration - or worse start booing at games, make sure your criticism is aimed at the right person - in this case the manager - Arsene Wenger!

Maybe this isn't worth a new thread, if there is a similar one then merge it, I couldn't figure out which thread to put it in but wanted to make the point.

Agree to a certain extent, we do need another option,,,,,,,but feck sack, some of his misses of late are shocking. Just against the garnets he had about 3 that he only had to get a knick on to score :BangHead:

Blame the manager, if we had another option then he could be dropped for a bit to give him time to get his head straight! Thats Arsene's fault!

Cant blame wenga for Giroud not sticking his foot out or directing a header. It pains me to say it but there it is, he is actually getting in the positions to score but he aint. You cant seriously blame anyone else. If he was`nt getting in possition because he was tired then yeah, you could blame wenga, but its not the case.

You can blame Wenger for going for the cheap option when he signed Giroud tbf!

Nah,,,thats an easy way out. Got to deal with what we got.

Fact is Giroud is our 1st choice striker, he`s getting in positions but missing, and missing sitters. Can i, hand on heart, say that Bendy would miss those, no i cant. Even he would score some, if not most, of those.

Then its Wenger's fault for not starting Bendy!!!

Missing my point....

Giroud getting in positions and missing is ONLY Girouds fault.

Obviously blame Wenger, but in that case we shouldn't blame any player that's ever played for us

Doesn't really make much difference.

The end result is still the same, he's not scoring.

Doesn't matter who's fault it is the fact remains he's not good enough and at 9 games and zero that's not even good enough for a back up striker.

Arsenal are never going to win anything if we're going to be so wish washy all the time.

The reason I get miffed with the situation is because I have nothing against Giroud but I knew when he first arrived he had neither the technical or athletic ability to match what it takes to be an AFC first choice striker I mean you don't go from RVP to Giroud, that's just crazy.

It is true, it was Wenger's fk up and tbf we're not exactly letting him off the hook when people say "New striker in Jan or Wenger out"

So don't worry PG the blame is being passed around quite efficiently. ;)

gotta agree with this. wenger can be blamed for the fact that Giroud is being overplayed, but Giroud not finishing is on Giroud and nobody else. It's like saying we should only blame Wenger for the 6 goals that City scored on us instead of blaming the defense and Chez for letting all the goals happen.

Well, so it's always the manager and never the player?

It's not like Giroud isn't trying or lacking work ethic to become better. If you give 200% in every game as well as in training and you still don't quite reach the required level to play for Arsenal's first team, no one should have the right to blame you imo. It's like buying a Honda Fireblade, expecting it to be one of the quickest sport bikes on the planet - but as soon as you come to the conclusion that's not the case - subsequently blaming the Fireblade for not reaching the same speed as a Hayabusa or a GSXR 1000.
