And the one from the other side where Ozil cut it back??

Must have missed it, got "terrorized" ;) from one of my nephews for some minutes during the first half.

f**k it, drop Giroud and play Poldi as a false 9. Only way to accommodate everyone

When he roams into that CF position (his fav position) Podolski is just fkin unstoppable.
Wenger needs to realise his worth and stop overlooking him so much just because he has a penchant for midfielders.

My worry is that he might not get into the position he did today because he would be required to play on the defensive line with his back to goal. He's at his most lethal playing off of a front man so he can find some space and get a shot in. He's worth playing there though with Giroud's poor form.

Had very busy family day and hadn't heard any scores until about 45min ago. I love Podolski and have done for years (since before he joined us).

I still remember people laughing at me for picking him in the first ever GW draft competition!!!

Wrong sitter look again, Ozil crossed from the other side of the pitch. That was Girouds third sitter IIRC, the one im referencing was his 2nd.

Gibbs has turned into a fine player, been playing v well this season. Should be getting the call up soon....

So did we play 4-4-2 at the end or was podolski on the wing?

We ended up with a crazy formation after Podolski came on for Ramsey.

Arteta
Walcott - Ozil - Cazorla - Podolski
Giroud

After we went 3-1 up Ozil was replaced by Flamini.

If Podwas playing cf, he would have been in girouds position.

Its exactly why we need a st and pod should stay where he is

It's a shame about Giroud's finishing because for me the rest of his play is great.

f**k. Looks like Arteta and Flamini for the next weeks. Come to think of it Jack will just slot back in there in midfield.

Not being funny but the inverted trio of Flamini CDM with Ozil & Cazorla CAM flanked by the dynamic duo Walcott & Podolski worked well today.

You can even play two CDM's when you have two wingers like that.

Cazorla was fantastic in the middle you have to say.

You mean this:

Arteta

Theo Ozil Cazorla Pod

Giroud

Whooah, hold your horses, don't get carried away my friend, this only worked today because West Ham where sitting back, but in a normal game situation Carzola offers nothing defensively so we will get torn to pieces through the middle. Sorry i'm totally against Carzola at center midfield!

You have to cater for each game, if we have so much possession we need players who can do something with it, you can either play safe or attack, said before the game to attack and my way was what won us the game.

You can choose the safe option if you want but Caz at CAM was fantastic today.

Bingo.

You should change your tactics and formation based upon the situation. If you're dominating the game and need to win it, there's nothing wrong with switching to something like a 4-1-4-1.

Podolski is the best finisher in the squad so we don't want him doing the messy stuff as a lone striker and largely being isolated. He might have some joy against the lesser teams though.

the rest of girouds play is average. Carlton cole was the better physical presence today and instead of occasionally flicking the ball on to no one like giroud, he brought the ball down and caused us problems. What giroud did was hardly special for podolskis goal. Other than podolski no other person in our squad would have scored from there, podolski was wholly responsible for the goal it was hardly layed on a plate for him.

Giroud had the lowest pass accuracy in our squad today (64%) and the most turn overs. If people believe that he has parts of his game that are good i suggest you watch other strikers.
