Gervinho completes transfer to Roma

Think the stick he got was a joke to be honest. Then again fickle fans are all the rage.

Didn't help that both his campaigns were disrupted by that tin pot f***ing tournament.

Perfect world we would have signed a better winger and kept fivehead as a squad player.

we already have theo podolski and miyachi

Theo plays on the right and Miyaichi is worse than Girvinho by a good distance...

Selling Gervinho wasn't a move to be celebrated without having a better replacement lined up IMHO. We are weaker as a club than we started the day today. Not cause for celebration in my opinion.

Without Gervinho's form at the beginning of the season we wouldn't have finished 4th. Squad is god at the end of the day.

Playing him as a target man didn't help either. Thats him and Arshavin who have had their Arsenal careers ruined cos the manager doesn't know what he's doing!!! - That is why I'd rather have Sanogo in the squad than Gervinho, we have plenty of players capable of playing out wide, but only Giroud and Podoski who can play through the middle.

ps Miyaichi will not get any playing time and will go out on loan again - you heard it here first!!!

pps Ramsey is not that good
Raya/Ramsdale
White/Tomiyasu--Saliba/Timber--Gabriel/Kiwior--???/Zinchenko
???/Jorginho
Odegaard/Smith Rowe----Rice/???
Saka/Jesus-------------------Martinelli/Trossard
???/Havertz

Theo "One good game in ten" Walcott :hiding:
Lukas "Often goes missing in games" Podolski
Ryo "The high school kid" Miyachi

Gervinho has his flaws but our other wingers/forwards have theirs too. Haters gonna hate :hiding:

You always say how you rate Wenger's judgement right? So how come you are moving goal posts when it comes to Gervinho? It is Wenger's call that he simply is not good enough so what do you have to say about that?

Walcott was our highest goal scorer and if he was only good once every ten games then imagine what he could do when he is good every other game ;)

Shame we let him go with Arshavin.

But all we're really going to remember him by is his giant forehead and that miss against bradford.

Gervinho was the only wide player we had capable of beating his man consistently. End product or not he was dangerous on the ball and an asset to the squad.

He needs replacing.

We do not need another winger. We need a striker, a DM, a CB and a GK before that.

13th of May 2012 Arsenal beat West Brom 3-2 to finish 3rd ahead of Newcastle. Gooney is still yet to leave the forum...

My two cents:

Gerv is an amazing dribbler but like Hleb before him he often didn't do much with it. He ran down blind alleys and then crossed to no-one or he fired a shot way over the bar.
He seemed to have some kind of fear of the final third because when he got into the box brilliantly his brain then turned to mush and made ridiculous decisions.
If he could've sorted that out he would've been so dangerous.
He had the worst goal-mouth composure I've ever seen and he missed gilt-edged chances when it really mattered e.g. FA/Capital one Cup matches.
Very talented but very frustrating.
