Who will you vote for in 2015?

Postby Callum » Thu Apr 18, 2013 12:19 am

I know the next general election is a long way away but I'm sure many people already have an idea with regards to who will be getting their vote. I was under a month too young to vote in 2010 but seeing as my vote would have gone to the Liberal Democrats, I'm actually quite glad I didn't make that mistake.

I can't stand Cameron, Osbourne and the rest of the Tories in power, so was planning on voting for Labour seeing as they are the only viable alternative in this crap system we have here in the UK. However, seeing as I'm finding it increasingly difficult to justify a vote for them and supporting Ed Miliband as the new PM, I'll probably just vote Green (living in Brighton it's not a wasted vote either). I agree with more of their policies than I do with the rest of them - specifically their attitudes towards drug use, minority groups and climate change.

What about you lot? Any UKIP guys lurking? :hiding:

Green like last time. And it is a wasted vote here but I don't f***ing care. Tories are a corrupt tumour that won't go away, Labour is incompetent and the Lib Dems are a joke

Blair and New Labour = Thatcher's greatest achievment.

Her words!

- New Labour are just another Tory party. Red or Blue the Tories are in charge.
- Lib Dems do nothing but excel in fooling people into thinking there's a real alternative. They basically won a shit load of Blue votes this time, and it's looking more and more like they'll be there to help Labour in the next coalition government.

I'll be voting conservative, as usual.

Unless the Conservatives stop turning their back on their main support base and halt that bill that will cause a lot of damage to our heritage, I'll be voting UKIP. Being in a Middle England constituency it might be wasted but as a former Conservative member, it sends a message that the Torys cannot turn on their core supporters and betray the political ideology that your party was built on and hope to win the next election.

I nearly started a thread regarding this but i felt it would just lead to abuse. I'm a member of UKIP (have done a little but of marketing for them in the past) so i'll be voting for UKIP again.

Nigel Fargae - This guys seems like i dude i could work with, a man of the people. Check him out on Youtube.

Conserv over Labour/ Lib Dem and don't want to waste vote on smaller parties but will take a look at options like UKIP etc.

It will never change either with that sort of thinking. It seems you might not want to vote, you are obviously disillusioned with it all. Can i just ask which parties policies are similar to your personal views. Doesn't everyone has an opinion?

I don't really care if it does or not. This country is not really salvageable in my opinion. I have always believed that regardless of party, they are merely puppets and the mouthpiece of a faceless organisation pulling the strings in the background.

If i had to choose, it would probably be UKIP, but only because Nigel Farage cracks me up with his Youtube rants. Like most politicians however, he talks the talk, but i am yet to see any politician with the balls to stamp their policies down hard, last was probably Thatcher, and in the end, she still managed to do enough damage to any good she did, and in the end lost the support of her own party and blah, blah, blah, the rest as they say....

As it stands i have strapped myself in for the ride.

I might get hammered for saying this, but I see UKIP as a wolf in sheep's clothing. In their manifesto, they claim to "recognise the numerous threats to British identity and culture", which just reeks of xenophobia, and their 31% flat tax on income over £11,500 would constitute as huge tax cuts for the rich. They also reject the idea of climate change and calls for renewable energy, whilst many of their members are in support of reintroducing capital punishment.

Not a fan.
