The general boxing thread

The general boxing thread

Postby Trina » Mon Oct 15, 2012 8:28 am

As I've still got boxnation I've been watching a fair bit so thought I'd make this thread.

Anyone watch the Price and Harrison fight on Saturday? 1 minute something and he knocked Audley out! Plenty of booing too.

DeGale fight was much better that night.

One of the best fights I've seen in years.

Freddie Flintoff is fighting tommorow. I'm watching his programme on sky1 and Mike Tyson is giving him advice. Amazing!

I find the whole thing a bit sad. The man is 34 years old, had little if any prior boxing experience outside of pub brawls when he started training, and is going in the ring with someone 2 stone heavier and 11 years younger, who has been boxing since he was a kid.

I am still trying to work out if this is a gimmick or if he really is going for it. I wish him all the luck but the heavyweight division has been a shadow of its former self for more than a decade and these sorts of publicity stunts are not doing the division any favours.

I love the guy butt agree its a bit daft. Hope he shocks us all and turns out to be good though. If he gets made to look a c*** in the ring it will be an awful way to end a great sporting career.

Agreed. I will watch it but in all honesty i expect him to get pasted, the other guy is barely out of amateur boxing himself but he is still unbeaten at pro level.

If there is an upset he'll get a much bigger fight next.

So is a one-off thing or is he making a real go of boxing?

I saw the show advertised earlier so I'll watch it later.

Ah cool, always liked Freddie so I hope he wins, but I doubt he will, this isn't the movies.

Any idea what channel this is on? The actual fight, not the documentary.

I'll be using a stream, preferably a Sopcast one.

Anyone know what time the fight(actual main event not all the lower card stuff) is as Middlesbrough are also on tonight?
