Squillaci in pre-season

Maybe, but he has been given enough playing time to suggest that Wenger considers him to be a useful squad player. That might give Wenger a reason not to buy a centre back.

He don't need a reason for that. Or at least not a very good one.

AW has said we need a CB, if he doesn't sign one he'll be lynched.

Squillaci having been poor in preseason was very much expected , but the other central defenders haven't covered themselves in glory either .

Koscieny : Shaky

Vermaelen : Poor [now this was not expected ]

Djorou : Abysmal

I'm a little disappointed with the way Chamakh is applying himself lately,he's a lot better than he is playing and you'r expect him to try a little harder after the torrid six months he's had.

Squillaci can try as hard as he wants,he'll still be sh*t
