Not sure how true this is but its being quoted that he may need surgery which will rule him out for the season,,,
Fabianski faces surgery, possible season KOPosted on January 31, 2011 by Martin @ thegoonblog.com It is being reported in his native press that Lucasz Fabianski is facing surgery on his shoulder injury sustained in the warm-up against Man City. He has made the injury worse through playing and Wojiech Szczesny has been between the sticks ever since.
The decision will be made this week on his surgery according to the reports. If it turns out to be the last remaining option you really have to feel for the Pole who has revived his flagging Arsenal career after a horrific two years, making error after error.
I think that he was in line to start against Liverpool for our first game of the season but his horror-show just days before meant that Almunia was given a late reprieve. He was on his way out at the time.. or at least, there were discussions going on.
Noises seem to indicate that if Fabianski undergoes surgery his season is under threat. I must stress the decision hasn’t been made yet but he hasn’t responded to treatment so far.
Szczesny is now our number one – he needs to be wrapped in cotton wool.
