Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has rejected rumours that he might be forced to retire because of injury.

Bendtner has yet to feature this season for the Gunners because of a long-standing groin problem and some speculation had suggested the Dane could be forced to hang up his boots.

Denmark international Bendtner is shocked by the false reports and is hopeful of making a return to action in the near future, even though he refused to set himself a target for when he could resume playing.

"It's crazy to hear such stories, I can completely dismiss it." Bendtner told Sporten.dk.

"I have been worried during the injury spell, but there has never been mentioned that it could stop my career.

Shocking

"I can't understand where this rumour comes from. It's nasty and quite shocking."

Bendtner added: "I am looking forward now and there is a lot to look forward to.

"I am expecting to be fit for a comeback within a not too distant future, but I have not set a date.

"Arsenal and I have worked out a timetable which I am following, but we are keeping the details to ourselves."

I do hope he has a speedy recovery because he is a player that was improving year upon year and really did a lot last year when we had no other strikers available.

Someone in the media clearly hates Bendy.
They invent a quote about him saying he should start every game ahead of Ademawhore.
They get someone to throw him out of a nightclub pulling his trousers down in the process so that they can take photos of him, and now this.

Its Chamakh i tells ya!!!!!!!!!!!

He predicted i would say Bendtner was better ages ago!!!! So he was the mastermind behind all of it!!!!

These stories have succeeded though haven't they? In all seriousness?

I don't know many who haven't dragged his name through the mud, interpreted his confidence as been cocky and unjustified...

People even believe he said he wanted to play for Real or Barca...When it was a complete non-story made up by some shitty Danish newspaper.

He might as well get out now...No chance of him EVER playing again with Chamakh in this kind of form "Insert sarcasm here"

That's what really pisses me off, the fact that people are stupid enough to believe this shit and continue to quote it as gospel for the rest of their lives.
Even so called f***ing 'experts' of the game.

Wasn't there a video that went with the story?

He was too busy having his cock shined by that Princess, or Royalty bird he is knobbing so him missing the World Cup wouldn't have done much, well, it might have done, seeing as they played him against Japan i think? When he was clearly not upto it.

And Inch, same shit, different day, different player.

RR, i don't recall there ever being a video, it didn't even reach mainstream media here.

Wasn't it his dad? From what I remember it was more of a compliment of Arsenal and of Bedntner's appreciation for Arsenal and Wenger. His dad just said that he turned down "top clubs" (no actual clubs mentioned) to stay with Arsenal because this is where he wants to be.

Retirement? Players his age should be thinking of getting to their peak, I don't even think that retirement should be on his mind for another 10 years!

This is just a weird story, it would have to be seriously recurring injury before any kind of talk like this came out. He played 30 games last year and his groin didn't bother him at all. Nuts.
