B52 Bomber...

He's definitely important to us and I don't want to get rid of him either. I really don't think Chamahk or whatever his name is, is the answer either though, but we'll see.

He's actually knocked in 11 from 20 starts. Fairly decent return IMO.

Indeed... and I think that is only getting better once RVP returns and starts drawing defender's attention.

Not sure if im mis-interpreting you here but my 20+9 was 20 starts 9 coming on as a sub.
I just listed the most important goals, game changers or match winners. :)

I don't get the criticism if i am honest, yeah, he has his off moments but he has been brilliant since coming back and playing regularly.

And let's not forget he's doing this with the pressure of being our only attacking option right now... playing basically a lone striker with two wide attacking mids that are rarely going to do more than cross the ball into the box.

The results given the situation are very very praiseworthy.

LOL, you make it sound like he's a soldier and last man standing against an army. If your a big ass target man, get used to having to do a lot yourself. Its your job.

Fabby, my point was he's the focal point of our attack right now. Defenders are not as distracted by other options in attack. We rarely have wingers cutting the ball into the box drawing the attention of the center backs leaving them both free to focus on Bendy. He's almost always doubled. When crosses come in he is frequently the only option in the box or one of two...

To be honest, I hadn't actually read your post, I was busy being furious about people slating him, I genuinely think he's come on leaps and bounds this season.

As I said, a forward line of:

RVP, Bendy and Chamakh would be tasty.

They can all interchange with each other, play on the wing or CF and proven goal scorers and would be decent in the air.

Our attack would be even more formidable with 3 hardworking strikers as forwards, rather than 1 striker and 2 midfielders as forwards.

The midfield will then be Cesc, Nasri (Diaby & Rosicky as back up) & Song.

Defence picks itself.

Chamakh and Nick are too much alike for me to play them together up front.

He just score 2 vs Birmingham in FM, we won 2-1 and his second goal was a long range free kick in the last minute. :D

I've never been all that impressed with Arsh. :dontknow:

As has been said, he is capable of great things sometimes... but most of the time he's just taking up space out there. You never know what you're getting out of him and his commitment to Arsenal and to winning is questionable.

With Bendy you know you're going to get maximum effort every time he's out there.

I prefer the latter.

i agree with that, i think that arsh is playing brilliant only against big teams, and in the other games he's not a shadow of the player he could be. i guess he's picking the games to put some effort and in the rest he's average.
but games with liverpool and porto were briliant and that's why you have to have player like arsh.

This is his first whole season with the team. He will learn from these things, Wenger will talk with him during the summer, and I expect to see Arshavin displeased with his stats and ready to show the player we saw at Anfield.

But you don't get to the big meaningful games against Porto and Liverpool playing like Arsh does in the "little" games...

There are no meaningless or less significant games in football. 3 points away at Sunderland counts just the same as 3 away at Liverpool.
