Have we been missing Denilson?

Postby Arsenal Tone » Tue Nov 24, 2009 7:53 pm

His first start since his injury tonight.

With Rosicky and Nasri struggling for fitness, Ramsey being young and Diaby being Diaby it seems nobody has stood up and staked a claim for Denilson's place in the team.

Do you think we have missed Denilson? I'll post my verdict after the Liege game!

Song was playing with a lot more freedom today - I'd put that down to Denilson's presence.

Denilson's goal was a cracker.

We look a lot more balanced with a midfield three of Fabregas, Song and Denilson.

No

Well if you count the fact that Wenger prefers him to Diaby, then I spose. But Ramsey can do as good a job and Nasri / Rosicky better. soooo nah.

Denilson and Song would work together in my first choice starting eleven every time.
So yes I'd say we've been missing him. None of the players who've taken his place while he was out have really delivered.

If we're only banging in 4, then there's 4 goals that we're not... lol

Denilson is mainly playing a defensive role though, so it's less about what we've scored and more about what we've conceded.
When we lose possession Denilson and Song track back and win the ball back. Something that Diaby and the others didn't really do.
So imo we would've scored the same amount but conceded less, may even have won the Wet Spam game who knows....?

I don't think we missed him.. But he adds a lot of stability to the midfield.. Had a terrific game yesterday.. I think he or Nasri will start with Fabregas and Song against Chelscum.. I would prefer Rocisky to start at the middle..
