RVP - I'm not a 'killer' like Torres

RVP - I'm not a 'killer' like Torres

A very honest and reasonable assessment of his game. I like that he's proud of assists as much as goals - but I do want him to be a 'killer' at times too.

'I don’t see myself as a true out-and-out striker,' Van Persie told Dutch newspaper Voetbal International. 'Guys likes Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba they are real killers. I feel I play between a target striker and a supporting striker. I am a combination of both.'
____

'A few weeks ago I was constantly walking into defenders, being put under pressure, and I missed some good chances. The coach has advised me to choose my moments better. In the last few weeks, the balance is better.'
____

'In the League I have now contributed seven assists and I am just as proud of these as the seven goals I have scored. I find it crucial to be effective in both spheres for the team.'

There you go all you bloggers who were calling me **** and ******, etc for criticising his performances earlier on this year, he admits himself he wasn't up to standard.

I am glad he has turned it around and he is right that he is not an out and out striker. He plays best with one rather than as one.

He is not a target man and he is not a support striker, he is something else, and that makes him better...

Wenger must see him as the only forward capable of playing that role, right now.

Personally I'd rather see bendy there, but I'm no expert.

I think Eduardo is the most overrated player in the squad by gooners. If Bendtner missed as many chances as he has recently; there would have been mass outrage.

Good on RVP to admit he was playing like a sh*t player before and glad he's figured out his role.

I think the problem is that he works best in a 4-4-2 but it is best for the team at the moment that we play 4-3-3. He plays up front in the 3 to link up with the 2 wing forwards and to bang a few in but it is not his ideal position.

I am suprised though as he plays RWF for Holland and he is their best player there so i am suprised Wenger doesn't consider him for Bendtner's position and likewise Bendtner plays up front for Denmark and he is their best player so he could consider him for Van Persies.
