Is Robin too afraid to get injured?

We'll never know if Bendy can lead the line unless he gets a chance. I know one thing, he'll never amount to f**k all if we stick him on the wing for an entire season. Our "strikers" haven't exactly started on fire so why does Wenger insist on playing our two target men out of position (Eduardo and Bendy)

You don't even need to take away RVP's penalties last season and you'll find he scored less goals per minute than Bendy did...

So my question stands. Why not him instead of RVP in the middle?

In the league he got 9 from 17 starts which is better than one in two.
As I said if you want to reach your target of 20 you could double those starts to 34 and you'd almost be there.
Is he capable of getting 18 goals from 34 starts? Who knows, why not?

@ imf if you was serious i dont see shava out on the right, dont think he'd be chuffed out there. so you'd have to wait for theo and drop rvp altogether. but thats just my opinion

inch. im im just not convinced he's at that level yet. but you make a very interesting point. still all down to theo for me

He switched to the right side v Wales and he got an assist as soon as he did. Why wouldn't he be chuffed out on the right and be ok on the left? He is a two footed player remember (as two footed as they come).

I think some of you need to remember how good RVP has been for us in recent years when playing in a comfortable position, and if you can't remember, let Youtube do it for ya!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq67dYEc0hs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-zlbxsSds1M

Almost all of his goals come from a RW position, where he naturally wandered to when a SS. He's the absolute master of turning defenders like children then lashing one in

And didn't he get the most assists in the league last season, on top of being our top scorer? That not proof enough for some people?

Perhaps not the best playing up top, maybe better to swap him with Bendtner.

But I think you may be partly right. He's not standing strong, staying on his feet, or brushing off a challenge. He has been going to ground FAR to easily this season. He's not diving, but he is making a meal of every challenge given him. I do not like it. He's looking for calls rather than looking for ways through. He needs to get his head right.

He does go down easily you're right.
Funnily enough he goes down easily everywhere except in the box!
It does get on my tits a bit sometimes.

I read somewhere recently RVP's constant injuries were down to the way he kicked the ball. Since he adopted a new style the injuries dried up, but he does seem to lack that rocket of a left foot he used to have. So I guess there's more to this than I first though...

The more I think about it, his whole game does seem drastically different than a couple years ago. Not in a particularly bad way or anything though, he seems to be much more of a provider / team player now

i think he's vastly overated, a good player yes, but nowhere near as good as some make out.
don't think he's too afraid to get out just think he's a bit of a pansy and likes to strut around other than muck in.
He's capable of moments of brilliance, but goes missing far too regularly.

I think people assign the tag "goes missing easily" far too quick.

Its been said a lot about Arsh and a lot about RVP, but maybe its because too much is expected of them. If their moments of brilliance are what really stands out then simple passing and movement can be ignored. If they are making mistakes fair enough, but tbh I have no problems with RVP and unless its still happening next year will have none with Arsh.
