Wow - this thread is quiet today - considering we just won 3-0 - probably cos it would mean giving praise to bendtner who had quite a good game i think?! What d'ya reckon gunngunn?

He was good, nothing special by any means but he put in a good shift and was rewarded with two well taken goals.

I can only think that his performance today was boosted by the fact that for once he actually had a partner who understands him up front.

For the last 10 games Bendtner has started, he has been up front on his own, or partnered with Ade, two things he doesn't do too well.

Vela suits his powerful playing style and because Bendy makes so much space for himself and gets into good positions, Vela can read his play well, just like Eduardo does.

For me however, Vela was outstanding today, moreso than Bendtner, he tore the Pompey defence, which in all honesty is a stunning defence, to shreds today.

BUT, however outstanding Vela was, even he was outclassed by Arshavin, he played a part in all the goals, led the team superbly and showed the kind of sportsmanship that is NON-EXISTANT in the game today.

The whole team on the whole was superb today.

Am looking forward to seeing it on MOTD - i love the fact that Arshavin is having such a huge influence so soon into his arsenal career - a lot of foreign players take ages to bed down - he's hit the ground running! What a star! :cloud9:

Its the difference between paying £5 million for an 18 year old and paying £17 million for an experienced proven World Class International footballer, same thing with Nasri.

A couple more players like Nas and Arsh in defence and midfield and i think we would be untouchable next season.

Yes, i am all for wenger saving money and buying cheap virtual unknowns that gradually morph into world beaters but he does need to balance that with buying a few more 'big names' who will slot straight in and make a difference. If we had had Arshavin from the begining of the season i wonder how different our season would have been?

I'd be tempted to start Nick and Vela up front against United, can't do any worse than that disinterested oaf we saw on Wednesday...

I'm too busy with the kidnapping of big Brede Hangeland to shape up the back. I think if you just gave Diaby a ball in the dressing room before the game he wouldn't make it to the pitch cos he'd be still trying to pick who to pass to even though he'd be the only c*** in there.
Reinvestment before Renewal.
