Lol relax. We won 6-0.UFGN wrote:elkanofan wrote:And you saw the diffetence between the lineup today and the home game vs West Ham was our left back and Havertz instead of Jesus.UFGN wrote:elkanofan wrote:Rice, Saka, Gabriel, Trossard, Odegaard all playered better today then him however Havertz proved today just how much we missed him in the home disaster game we lost 2-0.
Even more than last week. West Ham had absolutley no way to stop him today and had so many issues defending his positioning, movement and passes. His prescence and runs occupied their defenders and gave space for others to shine!
Just a shame he didnt score today and Saka didn't get his hat-trick with that shit after a wonderful flick from Havertz.
If he adds more goals and proper assists to his game hes a real world class player. So mature and is really starting to settle now. Hes put priority into teamwork of being a all round midfielder and attacker rsther than be selfish to score goals.
7.5/10
What i like the most is he solves our flaw we have when in games vs teams like West Ham. Forest, Brentford. Wolves etc.. we play infront of their bus and we cannot score with all our domination. His movement shaked ther bus up by pulling their defended out of position. This is going to be vital for the run in.

Oh do behave, did you not see the match? West Ham had no answer for anything we did but their problems were principally caused by failing to defend their penalty box well enough. And their keeper was double Ebola
Difference in result was gigantic. Its no coicedence. Havertz movement in attack and positioning defence means teams have big issues when they decide the park the bus. He drops deep, links up well then makes late runs occupying CBs allowing others space.
Havertz isnt your average player. There's a lot to his game.

Yeah I mean, West Ham’s line up was different, their goalkeeper was full of holes, their team managed to utterly collapse and have a full mental breakdown, conceded four goals in 16 minutes, Rice and Saliba with 10/10 performances , but Havertz though
I don’t know why I bother going to matches. Inevitably I go on the internet afterwards and get told all about some other match that I must have missed

Hes added something in the final 3rd we lacked all last year in physical presence occupying defenders.jayramfootball wrote:elkanofan wrote:From what i can see, this may come next season. Talking of former Leverkusen players and Havertz ex teammate. I"m a biased Jamaican but last season Leon Bailey was shit, i was concerned Villa would drop him for good, he was in tears after having a stinker one game. He kept his head down and worked, now look at him. Hes been one of if not the best winger this season. Incredible.
Sometimes it takes time for players to adjust and find confidence. Mind you Havertz was slightly better than Bailey at Leverkusen.

Good post that.
Most don’t really see what’s going in and just look at the final pass or shot and that’s about the sum of it.
Really enjoyed havertz performance today. So controlled and always pressing and disrupting out if possession. He’s really helped with the team balance this year.
I liked his play in the final 3rd today too. He has really to level ability to find space and link. Some really intelligent play to create danger.
7.5/10 is about right.

But the best thung from him is his versatility and maturity off the ball. Now he's just slotting in where it's LCM, AM, LW, SS, CF. whatever position you need a job from him hes able to do it.
Theres so many aspects to his game.

Merson and Keane and the commentators certainly don’t agree about West Ham, they were labelled as a disgrace and lacking desire.
Merson said these results happen but you have to play with pride and he thought West Ham didn’t.
It wasn’t just good play, West Ham gave us so much space.
First goal free header close in, 2nd goal penalty given away by Areola, third goal Trossard with scores of space in the penalty area, Saka goal Emerson goes to White the CB let’s Saka cut in which he does 99% of the time, Rice goal as brilliant as it was we had about 4 players lining up for a shot and no West Ham player in sight.
We played excellently, no debating that but West Ham poor workrate and lack of pride and desire was there to see.
They were just giving us tonnes of space and not closing us down, thats just poor.
You can get beaten by a better team, even thrashed sometimes but lack of desire is never acceptable.

I read an article tonight about the game and the ‘3 10s’ Arteta played today. Arteta discussed it with the interviewer. The mobility and movement of Odegaard Havertz and Trossard was a plan to pull West Ham all over the place. They couldn’t cope.
I am not sure it would work against any opponent but for today it was perfect.
All 3 were pivotal in the performance.

Its true West Ham aint been on a good run lately with a loss vs Bristol in the cup mind you. However even their loss to united last week had them with respectable possesion and more shots 13 to United 10 at Old Toilet. They are 7th, they arent relegation fodder Sheffield United, Burnley. This is a solid team, becoming a bit stale under Moyes i agree but solid.
They also started well like we did first 15 and offered a real danger in transition.
We gave them absoluelty nothing and when we scored, it didn't matter even of they wanted to step ot up. We completley outclassed and demoralized them. More importantly showing we have the solution to teams who just sit deep and counter.
Something i give massive praise to Havertz for today showing exaclty what we missed in the 2-0 home disaster. Something West Ham had no awnser to.
He's not a striker, a proper number 9 who just fights the defender and leads the line. When playing vs a deep line, the classic number 9 positioning is predictable to man mark in the build up before we make the final 30 meters towards the box.
West Ham's center backs even moreso than Liverpool last week couldn't track him properly when we had possesion.
Instead he makes these late runs into the box after good work dropping deep to help in possesion. This to occupy their centerbacks by drawing them to him when we look to cross or he's switched positions brilliant today with Martinelli or even Saka at times, unexpected for their cennter backs who were caught out like for our 2nd and 4th goals. Its a shame before Saka's 5th he didnt finish that dribble and shot since that assist with the backflick summed up Havertz today.
So we agree on one thing. Wet Spam needed to show more fight and balls when getting destroyed to get back in it. Moyes needed to be more positive. Thing is, this is being harsh. We were a force today West Ham even at their best had no awnser for.
Masterclass from everyone especially Arteta today.

Largely safe passing, some work rate and very little in the final 3rd from him and again he has to be judged on salary and fee, you can’t judge him as if he was on a low salary and came on a smallish fee.

I think some people are just glad he was not his usual poor self, I still think he is a white elephant.

That’s exactly it, he plays Ok and isn’t as bad as usual, then it’s a good performance.
His performances aren’t measured by the metrics they should be i.e goals, assists and brilliant play.
I’m not willing to judge a player of that value by the standards expected of a player worth 15 million.
