Yes it's on the BBC which will be a lot better but for some reason they have brought Murray Walker on board. Now I like Murray Walker but surely this is a backward step. The BBC taking over F1 should be about a new start a fresh approach, it shouldn't be about harking back to the days of James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi, Nigel Mansell etc.

I worry that the BBC will not give it full coverage. What i mean is i do not want to see football scores or sport updates flashing up/taking up a third of the screen while the race is on. I want 100% attention on the qualifying and on the race and i don't know if the BBC will do that.

I think Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard will be a good team, they may just give the lesser teams more of a mention. Brundle and Allen forgot that there are other teams driving other than Ferrari and McLaren most of the time.

Love the look of the new Williams 2009 race livery.

Having spent the winter testing in a dark blue livery, Williams have unveiled the blue and white colour scheme in which their cars will contest the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship.

The latest version of Williams’ FW31 machine also boasts unusual looking fins on either side of the cockpit. Dubbed ‘skate fins’ because of their resemblance to the flat fish, they are designed to improve airflow to the car’s narrower and taller 2009-spec rear wing.

Williams have not won a race since the 2004 Brazilian Grand Prix, but hope the significant changes to this season’s regulations will help them improve on the eighth place they achieved in last year’s constructors’ standings.

The team’s driver line-up for 2009 remains unchanged, with Germany’s Nico Rosberg again joined by rising Japanese star Kazuki Nakajima.

It HAS to be back on the Beeb!
To be honest, I kinda lost interest when ITV took it on. Too many feckn ad breaks and that David Rosenthal & Steve Rider boring the tits off me!

Beeb should try and snatch Martin Brundle though. I like listening to him and watching him chase Bernie Ecclestone around the start line just before the race.

I'm a fan of Martin Brundle, he passes on real insights into the sport. However I could do without his pre-start walkabout, it seems pointless to me because no one says anything which is worth listening to, it tends to be rather shallow. If the BBC do get Brundle then they might not need the walkabout because there wouldn't be the need to pad out the programme to get more advertising money.

I like the new Williams, it is not too disimilar from the 1994 Williams styling.

Does anyone know if Rosberg and Nakajima are the first ever second generation pairing at a team? I think that is pretty cool if they are.

I completely agree with that the pre race walkthrough needs to be done with. He used to get some good interviews but now noone is interested. Even Fisichella who used to be almost enthusiastic about them when he was at Renault shys away now he is at Force India.

I would like them to get a previous winner of the race as a guest to discuss the track and the oncoming race instead. That should give us some good guests and some diverse opinions.

Sebastian Vettel - the man who i think is the one to watch this season - was fastest in testing yesterday.

Best Jerez Testing times:

Sebastien Vettel (Ger/Red Bull) 1:19.055 (87 laps)
Felipe Massa (Brz/Ferrari) 1:20.330 (63)
Kamui Kobayashi (Jpn/Toyota) 1:20.699 (79)
Nico Rosberg (Ger/Williams) 1:21.171 (71)
Robert Kubica (Pol/BMW-Sauber) 1:21.292 (47)
Giancarlo Fisichella (Ita/Force India) 1:21.584 (31)
Pedro De la Rosa (Spa/McLaren) 1:21.831 (94)
Nelson Piquet (Brz/Renault) 1:22.011 (52)

As long as Red Bull improve there car from last year, Vettel should be able to pull off a few suprises. I hope.

Go on Vettel! Trouble is it is not the cars performance when it is working, we know it is good, it just needs to work for 65 plus laps, or the drivers don't need to be involved in unlucky collisions which seems to be a challenge. I think the team are cursed in that respect.

Honda aren't at Jerez, but they will do a "shake-down" test at Silverstone this week. They hope to have a full team test when most of the teams travel to Barcelona on the 9th of March.
