Yes and you’re spot on, you can see it now.

I could understand the rant at the time more even though it was not advisable, and IMO a bad idea but he also carried on with it after that which made it worse.

Maybe he would have been better talking about our one short on target in the whole of the match.

Why?
It was an away game against a team who were top 4 last year. We played it tight and shut them down.
We lost a point because of the officials cheating. It was right to call it what it was - a ‘disgrace’

Funnily enough the leading women’s coach just said the same thing and no one batted an eyelid.

The pgmol simply cheated, got called out on it rightly and then proceeded to assemble bought and paid for minions to bleat on their behalf.

More managers need to show Arteta’s courage and put a stop to the corruption.

There is no senior figure at the club that can keep a petulant, young manager in check. Edu will just rubber stamp whatever Arteta says.

All competitive managers get touchline bans for voicing against injustice towards their teams. Includes Klopp, Wenger, DeZerbi and now Arteta. Nothing special really. Been going on for ever. Will come and go.

The aforementioned managers win things. Never put Arteta in their elite company.

His rant was rather unusual in that he questioned refereeing in general calling it a disgrace etc, whilst rants do happen they are usually directed at the officials on the day, by criticising the whole system he’s now out a target on our back and we’re less likely to get those 50/50 decisions, him doubling down a couple times and the club added my their weight behind it won’t have helped.

On top of that the decision in question was made correctly as there wasn’t the evidence to overrule it and the foul was clearly subjective as you can see from the varying opinions.

So he’s made a fuss about a scenario where they got things correct, not a good look, at least if he’d talked about the Guimaraes arm he might have had a better argument, but then at the same time Havertz should also have been a red so it evens out.

As Jordan said the clubs get to decide the parameters before a season so to complain about processes they wanted is a bit rich.

All in all the only achievement with this was a negative outcome for Arsenal.

I hear you, but there are ways of protesting that don't make you look like a fool. We are not the only club to be on the wrong end of decisions, the Newcastle decisions were not shocking or bad in my opinion, so they didn't warrant the level of abuse Arteta gave. Did he kick up this much of a stink to a very clear and obvious error last season, with Toney's goal being allowed to stand because VAR officials didn't draw the lines ??? Thats reason to kick up a fuss, not this.

Pep would've refused to talk about it, he would be that incensed, immediately gets people onside. Imagine if Pep did that rant, everyone and his dog would be calling him an entitled prick, so on and so forth. I think Arteta's actions showed a lack of class. Irrespective of what "some" people on this forum think or say, the Newcastle incident wasn't a clear mistake so didnt need brimstone and fire from Arteta

Guardiola just accepts it and credits the opposition he doesn’t generally go on a rant about being hard done by, he knows his side are good enough to overcome any decisions that go against them and knows it works both ways.

If your side is good enough the majority of the time has decisions. make little difference.

Plenty of things to criticise Arteta about. This isn't one of them. A shocking decision from the officials, you can understand the anger.

We were shit in the match but should've got a point

Like said it was the manner and words he used and the club statement fully supported Arteta.
The FA asked for an outlined report of what the club thought was wrong, that was gone over by the FA I beleive.
Now it's time to take the FA to court if they have the balls. Or fkn get on with it.

It will die down soon. They'll patch up behind doors, and all will be forgotten as games come thick and fast.

200th match in charge this weekend. 115 wins is already the most ever in an Arsenal manager’s first 200.

Must win game

With top 2 and 4th v 5th happening, we must take full advantage and anything less than a win is catastrophic

No win should mean he doesn't see 201 games
