Trying not to laugh at Spurs wrote:
Wenger - Big-spending Spurs are fine with me
By Richard Clarke
Arsène Wenger has backed Tottenham’s big spending during the transfer window.
In January, Harry Redknapp shelled out a reported £48 million, more than any other club. He brought back Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe and Pascal Chimbonda to White Hart Lane meanwhile Wilson Palacios arrived from Wigan and Carlo Cudicini crossed the capital on a free transfer.
Reportedly, Tottenham and Manchester City combined spent £95m of the total Premier League outlay, some £160m. Despite splashing major cash on Andrey Arshavin, Wenger is famous for frugality. However ahead of Sunday’s North London derby, the Arsenal manager suggested Tottenham’s transfer policy was sensible given their parlous position on the table.
“They have made a big investment,” said Wenger at Friday’s press conference. “Every Premier League team which is struggling has a decision to make at Christmas - do we spend the money, take a bit of a financial gamble to stay in the Premier League or not?.”
“They have certainly made the decision that to stay in the Premier League they need to strengthen their squad. That is what they did and that is respectable.
“However I must say it is a very sensitive subject for me to talk about that today. I leave them freedom to do what they want.

Hmmm, Vela or RVP?
The guy who's on red hot form for us right now, keep him in the team? Puzzler
I like Vela, he's a good prospect, but come on!
