Nothing against him, just we all know Wenger was more worried about full backs getting forward than being able to defend. Hopefully Tomiyasu will offer more protection to the defence and allow the right winger more freedom to attack.

Cole
Clichy
Lauren
Sagna
Monreal

Some of the best to have ever played in this league. Not saying he hasn't picked some bad ones (Santos was definitely a winger!), but even the likes of Eboue was defensively solid, and Kola is clearly more suited to the defensive side of the game.

Wouldn't agree with your point, personally.

Cole, clichy and lauren were all wing backs rather than defenders, better at attacking than defending. Sagna was top notch tbf. Monreal was 'decent' but nowhere near world class.

Eboue was not defensively solid btw. Kola came in as an attacking left back, no idea why Arteta plays him at CB.

The role today is about attacking and width. Look at Liverpool ffs they won they cL and pl that way. Wenger was ahead of his time.

Bellerin's contract expires in the summer, so it's a moot point. He's not in the Mavro/Saliba category, he's an Arsenal veteran who we've seen play under several managers.

No, he's not in that bracket. He is in the Mkhitaryan, Coquelin bracket. Lol.
And off course I don't want him back.

Spanish right-back Hector Bellerin, 26, has hinted he has no intention of returning to Arsenal when his season-long loan at Real Betis ends. (El Desmarque, via Mail)

Don't blame him

You mean they aren’t in awe of our 31 games form over in Spain?

Even Mkhitaryan and Coquelin play better with their current team. Just saying.

Coquelin has not been better at Villarreal than he was at arsenal

Bellerin <3

Shame he could never regain his original speed, but his loan has been a win-win for both parties. Tomi has been a revelation at RB, and Bellerin has been doing well for himself at Betis. Hope he can make his move to Seville permanent.

He couldn’t hit a decent cross to save his life when he was with us
