Bearing in mind the CC teams 3 nil demolishing of a very good Wigan side at our place I have to agree!

Yes we're without Simpson but we have got everyone else and a certain Brazilian-Croation heading back...

Haha, don't worry your secrets safe with me, I only watch Everton so I can see Arteta play, but recently they have really impressed me

Weird as it sounds, I reckon McManamanamanamanaman is right. Our Carling Cup squad are playing to further their careers. Alot of them will consider themselves to be in the shop window, so they're trying to impress. On top of that, they've played together for a while, so they have internal cohesion. The first team, on the other hand, haven't played together for that long, and probably aren't comfortable with relying on the likes of Song and Ramsey to do their jobs, which will affect them. I honestly believe our Carling Cup boys would give anyone a run for their money at the Grove. They probably wouldn't beat the Mancs, Dynamo or Liverpool, but I wouldn't bet on a huge defeat.

What complete dog shit :snooty:

Yet again we prove that we couldn't hit the ground if we fell out of a plane.

I'm off to formulate a rant about this :BangHead:

I'm not sure if Eduardo will be back by then.
Wenger said 2-3 weeks and the replay is in 2 weeks I believe so it's close.
I also don't think Wigan played too well that night but that's another matter.
If Cardiff play as well as they did in the first half today then a CC team will concede I'm sure.

But you can watch Manure, Liverpoo and C$KA Fulham, and can you honestly say the same thing? Liverpoo play later and it's a local derby, so we can't read too much into that, but keep your eyes peeled on normal live games and see the bizarre decisions the above three teams win, and what gets turned down, then watch Arsenal again and tell me it's my imagination.....

it's your imagination ;)

The only thing that stopped our first team conceding in the first half today was poor finishing. But I don't believe that our CC team would play as poorly at the Grove as we did today. For one thing, I'd expect their passes to find their targets more often than not. If we had played our CC team at Ninian Park today, I don't doubt we'd have lost. You just need to look at the Burnley match to see how they'd react to playing in front of a hostile crowd. But the Grove is a completely different issue.

Replay is in 9 days according to Arsenal.com

Oh well there goes that idea! Still fancy any (reasonable) arsenal side going through to the next round, bring on the draw!
