Spot on, we really got done over with his signing, the money was ridiculous, very average player, to have paid 35 million is unbelievable, he was worth 10-12 million at best.

Quite happy with 18 million for him, he’s been an utter liability since he arrived and has really hindered the team.

Yeah not being funny, but if someone as average as him is the one holding the team together you’re in serious trouble, he’s been a liability throughout his time, I rue the day we signed him.

Please let this happen. I always thought Mourinho was a scumbag but I will root for Roma if this deal happens.

PLEASE. XHAKA. GO.

we needed a gutting of the squad and we're getting it. the club must be confident of replacing them otherwise they wouldnt sell.

We don't need Xhaka and better options are already in the squad. Just play Elneny and Partey as the two in midfield.

Partey is a superior player in all areas over Xhaka. Release him and do what Xhaka thought he was doing and we'll play a lot a better. Having him sitting in a DM role and passing it short to someone who can’t pass or dribble as well as him is a waste. Play Elneny alongside him to play DM, sit and cover and it's done or get an upgrade on Elneny who can play DM and make better passes.

I agree, we do have better options, I’m really happy we’re finally getting rid, it’s taken us far too long, he should have been sold years ago.

I hate the c*** but selling another midfielder before we've signed one is beyond stupid. Sign one then let him f**k off to Roma.

@ChrisWheatley_: Granit Xhaka has agreed a five year contract with Roma. Fee is expected to be in the region of €18-20m. He’ll become a Roma player very soon.

It's actually happening :1990_dancing.gif: :arse fan:

He's just not the right fit and it's difficult pairing him with anyone in midfield because of his limitations.

Difficult pairing him with a deep laying playmaker because we're left a little light on defence. Plus he's not the best supporting player. The playmaker often still has a lot of heavy lifting to do when it comes to recycling the ball and progression.

Paired with a DM we lose a lot on our attack and ball progression.

Box to box type/ midfield shadow striker....same problems as above.

Without him in the squad, I'd be more open to seeing different combination of players. Heck, Torriera and Guendouzi are two I wouldn't mind seeing next to Partey.

He did, he was wiser to be sold before Arteta arrived and he did play almost every game, doesn’t happen if the manger doesn’t rate you, I think Xhaka wanted to move on now for a new challenge.

It’s so he can bring mediocrity and mistakes to a new club.

£15 - £17m for Xhaka is good business by Roma.

He may do OK there at Roma and under Mourinho. Not the right fit for us though.
