We'll have to spend the money on a new striker anyway in 2-3 years to replace Auba.
We're not saving the transfer fee we'll have to pay, we're just delaying it.
Meanwhile we'll have spent nearly 50m on wages whilst completely removing any chance of getting a fee for Auba.
It makes no sense for our future - even if Auba was still scoring. It makes it even worse if he continues his terrible form.

Would it? How much did ings and Vardy cost?

If we find any player under or around 50m who can get close to that (see Diogo Jota form) then we’d have spent the transfer fee plus wages for 3 years = around 75m. Minus what we could’ve sold Auba for. Minus what we can potentially resell them for.

With Auba we are flat out paying 39m (assuming your calc is right) and still have to replace him at the end of his deal anyway. Nevermind the fact we aren’t even getting the 22 goals.

Only way to rescue it now is sell both Auba and Laca for whatever we can get imo. Take 40m for the two and take a punt on a younger striker alongside Martinelli.

Almost 1m a week for Auba, Ozil and Willian is a joke.

Ings had come from a long term injury when Southampton bought him, It was a gamble. Nobody had even heard of Vardy when Leicester bought him. Not a massive gamble for them because he cost peanuts but nobody knew he would turn into the player he did.

Right and giving Auba a new deal at his age was risk free right?

Mmm, worked out well so far.

There's always a risk but giving him a contract was never a mistake

Honestly you can't say this is normal. Love the bloke but he's been absolutely shambolic since he signed his new deal.

900 minutes.
2 PL goals.
A penalty and a meaningless goal when ashtray 2-0 up.
Eagerly awaiting the next excuse now the 'must play central' excuse is blown out of the water.

Yep.
LEFT.
HE HAS NONE OF WHAT IS REQUIRED TO PLAY CF IN THIS LEAGUE.
Never did and never will.
Don't know why it was even as discussion as it was obvious.
