I can't blame Wenger for not re-signing him. We had Cazorla and Ozil in 2014 and that money rightly went towards buying Alexis.

Only via a magic 8 ball could we have known that Cazorla would have a serious injury and that Ozils peak would be so short-lived.

Wenger was using Cazorla to play on the wing at that time which was a waste of his talent. Took injuries to Ramsey, Wilshere and Ozil for Wenger to play him as a CM.

We would have seen the best of Ozil earlier if he had given up the ghost on Ramsey and Wilshere much sooner and bought Cesc back.

If we bought in Fabregas we wouldn’t have bought Xhaka 2 years later who was the same price, probably could have won the title in 15-16 also.

That Xhaka transfer was the nail in the coffin. I can't believe the sheer stupidity of it. Sealed our fate. He is the embodiment of every flaw we've seen in our midfield. Pace of Cesc, Ozil level defending, the vision of Denilson (Mr sideways) and about as much as a goal threat as Francis Coquelin. Turns like a tractor on the ball, super one footed, the tekkers of Sokratis and unfortunately, super reliable and hardly injured.

Oh yes and they decided to make him captain.

We've never looked as bad creatively since we left Ozil out of the team.

Bringing him back would have accelerated our decline more cos we didn't have a flamini to baby sit him

I take your point but Cesc fits Arsenal, he didn't fit Chelsea, we would've got a lot more out of him. I agree we would absolutely have needed a proper DM though, none of this Coquelin/Elneny/Xhaka nonsense.

By the way, his numbers in his first season at Chelsea were top level.

Haven’t scored a goal from open play in 431 minutes. Why is this guy not the first name on the team sheet? What the f is going on at Arsenal?

Why are you posting about a player not in the squad being "first name on the team-sheet" you must know that's impossible.

Maybe if nobody takes him off our hands in January you can have him back in the squad ... but until then what's the point of posting this after every game?

To highlight the absurdity of the situation. Why are you on this thread if you don’t like it? If you’ve moved on, then move on.

a prime example of willock wasting minutes where we could've done with whatever is left of mesut's talent. his ballsack could've run round the pitch by itself and done more than joey.

Keep hoping to here that he's gone - contract cancelled - not finding the same repetitive idiocy posted after every game ... we all know the situation, it's not changing until January, so why post it every week?
