So all of a sudden a world cup winner, 5 times German player of the year, Real Madrid star, 19 assists a season player has just become shit and he can’t get into the squad ahead of Dani Ceballos and Joe Willock? Yeah that makes sense.
It makes perfect sense - a player who hasn't performed for two years is no longer worth his place - I can list 200 world cup winners none of whom are remotely now worth a starting spot at Arsenal, time catches up with all of them in the end.
Manuel Neuer; Benedikt Höwedes, Mats Hummels, Jérôme Boateng, Philipp Lahm;
Toni Kroos, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Sami Khedira; Mesut Özil, Miroslav Klose,
Thomas Müller.
How many of the German world cup winners in 2014 would start for Arsenal today? maybe 2/3 ..... not Ozil he's no longer good enough.
