Willian was shit. But lets not forget that pepe was truly awful last thursday against a liverpool kid aswell.

If some our players werent so goddamn inconsistent, wed be alot better

Pepe has that mercurial swagger where he can look like prime Robben. He's also relatively young with ample time to grow.

We all know what to expect from Willian. As I have mentioned before, he will look like a world beater in one game, disappear into wilderness, and return with a prime Ribery-esque performance before vanishing into thin air again.

He's a hard-worker. He is passionate. However, he is not the type of player who is consistent day in and day out. At 31, he's not going to transform into something he has never been.

Thought he played better centrally after Pepe came. Maybe that's where he should be leaving Pepe the wings.

I'd rather give game time to a younger player who has sparks of brilliance than the washed up old backup in fairness. I don't even rate Pepe from what he's shown yet, not for the 72m, but makes more sense to give him the opportunities to prove his worth.

Tbh, the way Nelson played so far in his brief spells this season he should be expecting more of those Willian minutes as well. Willian should be there when we need an energetic runner with a bit more match day experience.

I don't care on what side of the bench he sits.

He wasn't central he was LW but he floated into the centre at times and yes, with Saka, Auba and Pepe around him to link with he looked decent in the hole.

Sheffield couldn't handle it when we made that change, then they had Pepe bearing down on them more direct than Willian.

Willian seems to want to create more while Pepe acts like a WF.

I said he would be 2nd best all game and I was right. City away or Liverpool away in our current setup is not suited to him at all.

It's the same issue we had for years with Özil in those games.

But Willian trains hard and is on Arteta's boat.. so he must play even if it means shoving Auba to the left..

Can't wait to watch him three years. Such a bad deal. I would have taken one year of Özil or Mkhi over him

Oh, those good ol' days after Fulham where people thought he was better than Messi.

Some of us warned people here. Chelsea fans told us about him.

But we had to give him a 3-year deal on £120k a week, with some Gooners pretending like he's what we have missed all along. Now, we're stuck with him.

He will have four more of that Fulham-esque performance this season. Usually has 5 world class games a season.

It's 100k a week.

Willian shouldn't be starting games. Not seeing anything in terms of work rate or quality that suggest he should be starting.

While it is still early days, Willian hasn't looked good at all. He's a player we're going to pay him £100,000 per week until he's 35, and this is his great audition. I have a feeling we'll regret signing Willian sooner rather than later.
