Guys, I thought Emi was better all round but Leno is still a good shot stopper, not exactly a crap goalie and Emi is an Aston Villa player now.

Back our own goalie.

There are other goalies better than Leno at other clubs, but we don't compare them every game.

Depsite where you stood before the sale (I was pro Emi) Emi is now one of those "other" clubs goalies.

Its pointless comparing them now.

We have to back Leno and his performance against Liverpool was the sort of soothing performance we needed.

Martinez wasn't great today...

Leno the better shot stopper. Martinez better at crosses / commanding the area.

This
Not interested in EMI any more he is no longer at Arsenal.
But anyone who thinks Leno is the finished article is dreaming. He could be world class with some polishing

I may think Emi is better, but that doesn't mean I think that mngmt being honorable toward an injured starter is a bad thing.

And Leno earned alotta cred with those PENS.

Above wasnt a criticism of notsaving vs the Blades... it just seemd likehe allllmost gotit.

It was well struck/placed...Cant DEMAND a WC save.

No one say that Leno should have saved that. No one. Not even those Arsenal hating press and pundits.
The only place that I met people that think he should have done better is in Arsenal forums.

Sorry gotta disagree with this!

Have a look at pools first against us - Leno yeah, great shot stopper - here you go Mane...have this one....Leno let 3 in against pool - 2 of which were his fault.

Villa beat pool 7-2 Salah scored two crackers, both of which were struck better than McGoldricks finish against Leno.

Emi made a couple of outstanding saves as well.

Lenos biggest concern yesterday was falling asleep, as Sheffield showed they will be relegated by the end of the season.

I wish Emi well and hope villa finish behind us this season and we score 5 against Villa.

All that said, Leno is now our keeper and hopefully he will improve his keeping as the season progresses.

Leno showing his strengths and flaws today.

Strengths:
Fantastic shot stopper & looks much better with his feet this year.

Weaknesses:
Has a poor tendency to parry balls right back into open play & doesn’t command his area that well

2 big games where he's parried it poorly into the open and resulted in a goal.

His stop on Foden showed what he does well but overall less confident with him in the net still.

He's the last of our worries tbh, but the goalkeeping coaches ned to train that out of him.

He does it far too much and it looks like his luck has started running out this season
