You have to love Wright. He's just one of us.

Auba statue in the making surely. What's the pose?

He's right though, Wrighty needs one.

First of all, Wrighty. Get that man the statue he deserves.

I love hearing Aubameyang speak about legacy, and I think given what we know about him it makes total sense that he wanted to expand on the one he's building here. When you see people talk about guys like Wrighty with the love and affection they have for him that has to appeal to players, and he knows he's adored here. Some guys may value winning silverware and earning more money over legacy—just look at van Persie compared to someone like Alan Shearer, for example—but it's good to hear Auba cares about it.

That said, clearly the FA Cup win and the improvement under Arteta had a massive influence. If we weren't trending in an upward trajectory then perhaps this never would have happened. If you'd asked me what the chances of Auba resigning was around the time Emery was sacked I'd have probably said less than 10%, but thankfully the club have appointed the right man and he's turned the club around. He's clearly got a long term plan for us and has convinced Auba to buy into it, and I think he massively appreciates the role he has as captain and I'm sure he'll enjoy having a strong influence in the dressing room moving forward (especially with the young guys).

Money is a factor, of course, as it is with all top players and their last big contract. Ultimately though we could not have sold Aubameyang and replaced him with a forward of his elite calibre, and as I mentioned above, with a lot of the deadwood we have on big wages set to be gone by 2021 the wage hike is absolutely worth it.

After being burned so many times—Fabregas, van Persie, Alexis etc—it feels good to have one of these drawn our transfer sagas over our world class players go our way. Here's to three more years.

So happy! Well done to Arteta and the board for getting this done and thanks to Pierre for giving us another icon, legend and world class player to add to the pantheon of the past and the future.
Good old Arsenal, we're proud to say that name

Video was good but even wrighty’s acting like a cuck for Auba lmao, he has this club by the balls

Just hope he really keeps up his form for the duration of the deal and earns this legacy he keeps banging on about. So far been a good goal scorer and hit targets in record time, that’s great and I love having him in the team particularly for the atmosphere he brings, I just hope he can maintain it and even improve on his previous tally’s.

Already a legend. Fourth best striker we have had in the last 30 years. And he has time to be even better.

If he bangs in 30 plus again this year then he could be the GOAT
