Of course, because 99% of their attacks come from through balls to mane and salah or from crosses by the fullbacks that get in behind the defence.

If you sit back they have to try and go through the middle which they don’t have the players for, especially without firmino. That’s when their midfield starts to break down, lucky for them most teams will lose concentration at least 1-2 times over 90 mins and they will take that chance. It’s the sheer number of attacks they usually have that breaks most teams but if you can defend crosses well then you’re more than half way to stopping them.

Exactly. And that discipline is exactly why we can’t afford to carry a player like Ozil. All of those players are a unit and fully committed to what is being asked of them! So great to watch.

Ozil is one player that is not starting from zero it seems. (Nor is Guendouzi. ) I agree they are probably not included because they are toxic. Ozil will never put in a shift the way the others do. A luxury player, that takes away from the team.

M&N and Bellerin looked great. We need to keep both IMO. Cedric did his part too. Depth.

Amazing how organized the defence has become. And tactically fluid. The kids sure looked confident on the pitch and taking pens. Another step forward! This team with a couple key upgrades will be right there in two years I'd bet.

They lack creativity in the midfield, they desperately need Thiago. Their high-intensity pressing game has worked well for them but when they come up against a team who can play out from the back and bypass the press they need someone to carve out chances for them.
