As for virginia plain.... absolute cracker like bowie it sounded like it came from another planet... dont know if it's been expunged now but jimmy savile introduced them on top of the pops.. silver machine Hawkwind and motts all the young dudes was on the same show.... god we never had it so good. Dick emery on a Thursday night....... the beeb would run crying and screaming if they put that on now....
I like the early Roxy Music stuff. Not such a fan of the later stuff or Ferry on his own - although he was still a real style icon in the early 80s. I think some guy in the 70s described him as an example of living art.
