Popular with his teammates and match fit for 90-95% of the season. That's enough to make him a guaranteed starter.

Pretty much, a sad reflection of expectations at Arsenal, you don’t need to be any good, just fit much of the time and liked.

He’s still awful and needs to be sold, we’ve been awful this season with or without him.

He starts most of our games, so we've lost a bunch of them with him too. He can't defend or dictate the tempo of play. He wouldn't have impacted anything today.

Glad to have our backup CB back. Only way Luiz doesn't get a one-year extension.

Can’t believe this guy is back already, when players like Xhaka are mainstays in your team you know you’re a rubbish team.

As much as he'll always be a c***, this is unfortunately true. Our lack of quality in midfield is shocking.

If we venture into the Italian market alone, we will find two players who have world class potential and could change the game for us at midfield: Tonali and Barella.

Unfortunately, Inter want Tonali. And Barella is already known enough to warrant a big fee relative to his experience.

While Tonali is likened to Pirlo, Barella is more like Scholes except more versatile.

But we are busy spending close a £100m on Soares, Luiz, and Mari, so who has the time and resources, eh?

So Xhaka, it is.
