People seem to have got accustomed to Messi's brilliance.
To even hint that VVD (or anyone else) should win the award over Messi is pure lunacy.
Messi scored 51 goals in 50 appearances last year and is already on 11 in 14 appearances this year.
An EASY choice to win.

No wonder Messi has won it 6 times... 733 appearances and 625 goals in his career to date. Truly amazing.

Most boring award there is. They need to introduce a crossbar challenge or something; winner takes all. Otherwise this show can go the way of the Victorias Secret runway show

Premier League allstars Vs La Liga allstars..... drunk. Every player must consume a pint of vodka in the hour preceding kickoff and another two double measures each at half time

^^ Cant argue with that. Having watched him live, ive tried to put a finger on what makes him so good. I think above all its his off the ball movement. Hes continually running into empty space, anticipating a pass..... for 90 minutes he does it. His fitness must be phenomenal

He is the greatest player in the world, and has been that for many years.

He barely sprints. Ever since he done his hamstring in about 4 years ago he limits how much he sprints on the pitch

His footballing brain is miles ahead of anyone who’s played the game in pretty much every aspect. He’s the best forward and playmaker in the world at once, it’s absolutely insane

VVD a deserved second but don’t think he really should’ve even have come close as the votes suggested

Wrong. VVD transformed the Liverpool defence and lead them to a CL win and was a large part of the 97 points (3rd highest ever total) in PL.

Was easily his year to win it, the fact he didn’t shows a defender will stand no chance for a long long time. Messi was obv second given his number of goals but Christ his barca even flopped from 3-0 up against VVD’s Liverpool in the biggest club competition.

Haven't made my order yet. First is obvious but 2-10 will be a challenge

First and 10th were easy

Debated who goes 2nd between Ronaldo and Messi.

Zidane clear fourth.

5-9 is as close as you can get and I wouldn't argue with anyone who has them differently.
