Spot The Error (3) Day 4

Postby SE13 » Tue Dec 02, 2008 6:53 pm

The 1979 FA Cup Final, and what a final it was. Arsenal took on Liverpool, who were clear favourites. The Gunners raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half through goals from Stapleton and Talbot. Little or nothing else happened until the 85th minute when the opposition struck two late goals to bring the game back to 2-2. It was still 2-0 to Arsenal after 85 minutes! 88 on the clock, and Rix plus Brady combined to provide a cross for Alan Sunderland to steer the ball home. After the bitter upset of losing out to Ipswich the season before, The FA Cup was back in the hands of The Gunners for the first time since The Double in 1971.

In that match Liverpool weren't Arsenal's opponents.
Arsenal beat Manchester United 3 - 2.

Thanks again! I could hardly look at the TV for the last few minutes of that game.

I felt the same as you. If it had of gone to extra time I think Man Utd would have won. What a great run from Brady and fantastic goal from hair bear Sunderland.

This "roll" could be like an Adebayor goal spree, i.e. it could dry up at any minute. :rofll:
