Yea I see it. We weren't talking about 1 for 1 replacements, we were just talking about having enough CB's, so making up the numbers so to speak.

We won't sign Upa. We signed Luiz instead.Sims wrote:Next season we’ll have Upa & Saliba, Chambers will go then Sok/David Luiz will be phased out
Then we win the world cup

A statement from his father and representative Kujtim Mustafi read: "Shkodran had a great time with Arsenal. We still have a contract for two years and can imagine to stay in London.
"However the best for both sides is probably to work on a transfer. But for that it also needs market-driven transfer-fees."

Fair play to them. Mustafi has a contract and you can't hound him out. If he stays, we just have to take it on the chin and utilize him in subpar competitions like the Europa League and the League Cup.

I understood it more like, let us go for free and we might consider leaving.
Agree with the second part though. If we didn't get rid, we shouldn't totally freeze him out. Would be more difficult to get rid next year then, I guess.

Sometimes things are a bit mean spirited and that’s not necessary. For example, I am glad Emery has spoken to Mustafi and Elneny about leaving. But he shouldn’t be so open about that in public. It’s insulting to these guys and lowers their market values making a transfer difficult.
