Yea I see it. We weren't talking about 1 for 1 replacements, we were just talking about having enough CB's, so making up the numbers so to speak.

We won't sign Upa. We signed Luiz instead.

Might win the WC though lol

A statement from his father and representative Kujtim Mustafi read: "Shkodran had a great time with Arsenal. We still have a contract for two years and can imagine to stay in London.

"However the best for both sides is probably to work on a transfer. But for that it also needs market-driven transfer-fees."

If you are in the shop window and look like shit, and the shop keeper selling you says your shit (as pretty much the club and supporters have) you ain't going to sell for shit.

Translation: We're here to stay.

Fair play to them. Mustafi has a contract and you can't hound him out. If he stays, we just have to take it on the chin and utilize him in subpar competitions like the Europa League and the League Cup.

I understood it more like, let us go for free and we might consider leaving.
Agree with the second part though. If we didn't get rid, we shouldn't totally freeze him out. Would be more difficult to get rid next year then, I guess.

Apparently he's refusing to go so that might be the only way to demonstrate what's ahead for him with us.

I never rated Mustafi and can’t wait to see the back of him. But I still think players should be treated with dignity. Sometimes things are a bit mean spirited and that’s not necessary. For example, I am glad Emery has spoken to Mustafi and Elneny about leaving. But he shouldn’t be so open about that in public. It’s insulting to these guys and lowers their market values making a transfer difficult.

I'd say their performances lower their value much more.

Tbf to elneny, we'll probably make a profit on him

I think we need to stop with the ego thing, and let him have his dream move to Barcelona for around 2-3 million

We'll probably use him in our EL and League Cup fixtures. Hopefully he can get a loan + buy deal in Jan.
