In hindsight that was the right decision but when i look back on it, most of the people here (myself included) wanted us to force him to stay until the end of the contract and leave on a free instead of once again selling our best player to a rival. In fact, i think Gazidis and company were praised for being "strong" on the Alexis situation when we refused to sell him in the summer.
