For real through, we need to implement a policy where Twitter rumours posted here have to come with a link, and those that don't should be suspended from posting for 72 hours or so. There are a few posters that make up complete bullshit and provide no links whatsoever, and morons take the bait and we devolve into pointless infighting.
A rule like this exists on most forums for good reason.
But just because you post a link, doesn't make a rumor real/credible. So you're still stuck with the dilemma of whether you believe it or not. Even credible sources talk shit and are wrong at times. Just do what I do, don't believe it til its on the Arsenal website. Let the morons be morons and don't become one.
Baby steps. A rumour with some minimal attribution would at least get some people to click and figure out the veracity for themselves, instead of immediately believing it.
Once that's established, the admins/mods can assign credibility tiers. That's what r/gunners and Red Cafe have and its a system that works because it limits unproductive discussion.
Just the other day there was a mini meltdown because of an article that claimed that Auba took Arsenal off his IG. I posted a link to his IG showing that he did no such thing, but people were already slating him for being shit and disloyal.
Abuse him all you want when he's missing sitters on match day, but FFS, if people can't keep it together over literal fake news, the quality of discussion here will sink like a stone, especially during tough times like what we're facing now.
