Weekly salary is irrelevant it's the total value of the contract that the club has to depreciate on its accounts that matters ...

He will cost the Italians 300k a week for four years, but zero in transfer fee ... that's a contract value of 60m

If they'd paid us 40m in transfer fees and paid him 120k a week ... that's still a contract value of 60m

However because Gazidis and Wonger had some brain-dead fantasy contract management theory ... we gave him away for free ... thus permitting Ramsey to stall on a new contract for two years, then pocket the 40m in wages that should have been ours in transfer fees ... somehow that's all The Don's fault according, to some of the mathematically challenged on here ....

Yo muppet, my point being Juventus are not a charity giving out of contract footballers a decent wage. They’ve chose to spend 60MM on Ramsey which means he’s pretty damn good.

Feel the same when looking into the stats. They'll need to have a real explosive season here to make an impact.

I'm the muppet? ... what bit about contract value don't you understand .... topic after topic your ignorance just blazes across this site ....

They've invested 60m over 4 years ... that's the equivalent of a 40m transfer fee for an decent midfield player on 120k a week ... a Xhaka level player if you will ... good but not great, what bit about that is hard for you to understand?

Ramsey is second tier always has been ... Juve paying out 60m a year for four years just confirms that ... if you want to look at top players try Hazard he's costing RM 100m + 20m a year for five years that's 40m a year, so nearly three times Ramsey's cost ... or compare him to his new team mate who is costing Juve 70m a year over 4 years .... can you spot the difference now?

Absolute nonsense. Don’t give me all this contract value mumbo jumbo. They’re paying him 300k a week which are Ozil wages.

Juventus are a bigger club than Arsenal?

Yes, of course they are.

It's arguable.

They have a great history, and so do we.

Mate we don't come close to Juventus when it comes to history. As the other poster said, would Ronaldo come to Arsenal ? They are the most successful team in Italian football, we don't come close to them when it comes to presitge. There is a reason why top players go there and not Arsenal.

The sad thing is that the move to the Emirates was supposed to get us to the level of the really big clubs. Never happened. We remained the next level down... and only just. We're clinging on to be one of those clubs that is a cut below the biggest.

Sure.
Whilst we're not close to being at the highest level, the main thing is that Wenger is gone. We were some weird Wenger FC team playing some boring keep ball game for 10 years.
With L'Idiot gone, I feel we are Arsenal again... that's more important than being the best.
However, I will be most happy with my team when every single player and coach who Wenger brought or hired is gone. It's a long road to recovery from the mess L'Idiot created.
I thought we got our Arsenal back - but we got Emery

Please, please please tell me you will take your own advice and stay off every thread that's beyond "Man kicks ball, man gets paid" ... the sense of relief for the rest of us will be almost as good as an Arsenal win .....

Ramsey's value to Juve will show if he starts games and keeps his place in the team.

It makes no sense talking about his wages in terms of the transfer value. Hazard and Ronaldo were already on massive wages, Ramsey wasn't on that much at Arsenal so of course £300k will be more attractive to him.

Apart from Swipe-right nobody gives two fecks about Ramsey's value to Juve ... the point being made in the Unai Emery thread is that Ramsey leaving for nothing is >40m that The Don doesn't have in his transfer budget ... and because Ramsey was still on 2016 wages even though him leaving clears 100k off the weekly wages bill, in reality that won't cover a like-for-like replacement ...
