Back in the 80s and early 90s it was impossible to get games on TV over here in the States so I never even saw him play a game live.

Lol I wasn't referring to anyone in particular, I was just speaking in general terms. We didn't exactly play the most beautiful football ever under George Graham, so even a player of Rocky's skill got overlooked.

ANYONE who claims to be an arsenal supporter should know or at least heard of Rocky though, no matter whether you supported the club at the time or not, whether you had seen him play or not, fair enough if it was the anniversasry of an opposition club's legend, but it wasnt, Rocky was one of ours.

Supporting, & learning more about the club you love doesnt just account for the present time, the club was around long before all of us were born.

Thats all true. I'm just saying some people may have heard of him, but may not know how naturally gifted he actually was. As I said earlier, he started to have a lot of injury problems and bounced around a lot of clubs, so if someone who knew nothing about him looked him up, they may think he was just a journeyman player because profiles don't tell the full story.

Here's to Rocky, who lives in the memories of many old Gooners. Pity he died so young.

His chip against United is still one of the classiest goals I've ever seen, the way he beat two defenders with the double touch.

Makes it even better that Schmeichel was in goal and he could do nothing about it.

Never really saw him at his brilliant best. Was a fan of Arsenal when they won in 91 but far too young to notice any specific players but old enough to know the basics.

This is what he was about.

It's all very well having talent - and he had bags of it - but it's worth nothing if you don't have the mettle to go with it. Rocky had the steel, determination and will to win that was typical of those George Graham sides. It's why the fans loved him. Because if they were to get on the pitch and play for the club, that's how they would want to play.

I wish i saw him more, i started supporting Arsenal 89 when i was 8, my family got me watching them, i was 11 when i really got into football in 92 and that was when he left so just saw him at Leeds mainly.
