There a people out there who don't get to decide whether or not it's boring, because these issues are a permanent fixture in their lives. By ignoring the issues you are perpetuating them.
IMO, none of us get to decide if something is boring or not. It either is or it isn't, we can't change the fact that something might be exciting or boring to us personally. We are all a victim of our circumstance, which means we're all different. It's like food, you don't get to pick what foods you like, you taste them and your brain either tells you whether you don't like it or you do. Same with things being interesting or boring.
Now I will saying we do get to choose whether we ignore it or not, although that freedom of choice may be an illusion, but that's a whole other subject.
