Pathetic.
He’ll be out in about a month with a tag.
And have lost his job, with a conviction against his name for the rest of his life.
Swear some people want to see others lives ruined. Dude swung a punch, same thing dickheads do outside clubs every weekend, this just happened to be to someone half famous and caught on tv. It’s assault and he got punished for it, what more do you want.
I don't want to see the guys life ruined, but you have to set some sort of strong punishment with fans running onto the field and attacking players. Cause next time it could be a stabbing instead of a punch. And then everyone is going to be livid that previous attackers weren't punished more. Definitely is a fine line here.
Remember Monica Sellas?
I’ve heard about her and what happened, the tennis player right? But no I don’t really know too much about it.
Doesn’t really matter, it’s about perception. I think for a normal person, any threat of jail whether it’s 14 weeks or not, is threat enough. I doubt you’d stop some absolute loon (which you got to be to actually stab someone) regardless of the length of sentence.
Also, should a weapon be involved then the sentence would be much much greater, you can’t punish this guy to make a point and account for those who may bring a weapon. As said above, this is already quite a severe punishment comparatively for what he did.
