No point doing lineups cos Emery will f**k it up anyway.

No chance he starts Ozil and Laca at Liverpool..

He will probably go with a back 3 with Kola and AMN as wingbacks. In the midfield he will start Xhaka, Torreira and Gendouzi with a front 2 of Iwobi and Auba.

And he will get our assess handed to us and deservedly so.

We're going to lose this one no matter who we field.

Liverpool at home.

A draw would be a get out of jail free result, a win would be a bigger miracle than a virgin conception.

Worth pointing out that everyone thought we'd get thumped the first time we played Pool this season.

We're one of only 3 teams to take points off them this season, so don't go giving up before we kick-off. This team has, at least, shown that they're up for a fight against the big teams.

Ramsey has to start. After watching maybe the worst, slowest midfield performance in a long time, today, we 100% need him, if only to move the ball forward.

Either way this game is going to be a disaster.

I didn't.

I do think we will lose this time.

Why? Away from home. Our form is way worse this time around. Their form is way better.

Nobody expected the 8-2 at OT in 2011 but thats what happens when a full strength home team faces an injury hit away team. Given that our options are Lichsteiner, AMN, Iwobi and maybe Elneny, it's not looking good.

Leno

Licht - Sokratis - Mustafi

Niles - Torreira - Xhaka - Kolasinac

Ramsey

Auba - Laca

We need a performance full of urgency, instensity and maximum concentration to come away from that shithole in merseyside with anything. Let see what happens. They might surprise us. I doubt it but here’s hoping.

People that are putting both Koscielny AND Lichsteiner in their defence options must want us to go on a suicide mission.

We can get away with having 1 slow centre-half in our defence perhaps, but to have 2 slow centre-halves against a front 3 of Mane, Salah and Firmino would be catastrophic.

We will most likely lose no matter what side we field, however, I want to at least make them work for it.

Mustafi may be back for this game apparently, he has to start if he's even at 80% fitness.

I don't even know whether it's better to play a back 3 or a back 4. If we play a back 3, we will be exposed on the flanks when we inevitably get caught playing a high line and all our players are too far up the pitch (which has been the case even when we were winning games regularly). Which will play into their hands as they turnover possession super fast, especially on the counter.

If we play a back 4, Maitland-Niles/Lichtsteiner are liabilities either going forward or defensively, whilst Kolasinac isn't disciplined enough in a back 4. Which means both right and left hand sides would be targeted as weak points.

Overall, it isn't looking great for us. I mean, the fact we are begging Mustafi, a player who a lot of us wanted to get rid of, to come back into the team says it all.

I just don't want to be on the end of a hammering. If we give a good account of ourselves, I'll be content with that. Don't think anyone is expecting us to get something from this, especially with the injury problems we have right now.

Leno
Niles - Mustafi - Sokratis - Kolasinac
Ramsey - Torreira - Xhaka
Özil
Lacazette- Aubameyang

Subs: Cech - Jenkinson - Koscielny - Guendouzi - Iwobi - Smith-Rowe - Nketiah

No Lichsteiner and Koscielny please.
Would even think about playing Jenkinson ahead of Niles, if hes sharp enough.
Give Guendouzi a break, and use Ramsey instead. He is a big game player (and is looking to attract other teams).
Use Smith-Rowe ahead of Iwobi from the bank.
Pray for God, that Liverpools front three are out of form and dont take our defense apart.
