I understand why he did it but it was such a silly career move for Henry to start off at Monaco.

He knew the trouble they were already in. All the big names bar Falcao have gone. He's got a side of average youngsters, a hell of a lot of injuries and the owner in shit with the police.

It's far too early be gunning for his head because he obviously has a bit about him but I can't see him doing anything at Monaco whilst things are like they are now. Not many managers in the world could right now.

Should have gone for the Aston Villa job in hindsight. If he failed, the club would have been blamed. If he succeeded there, he'd have been credited.

But knowing Henry, he probably considered Villa to be "below" him and wanted to use Monaco as a springboard to get a top job.

Still have no idea what he was thinking succeeding Jardim. If Jardim couldn't clear the mess, Henry—as a novice—didn't stand a chance.

inb4 Henry turns out to be the second coming of SAF.

Tbf if you're Henry and you've got that choice it's easy. His first pro club, French team, bigger club, more money and still a challenge or shitty Aston Villa trying to get JT out of retirement?

Incoming £300m spending spree by PSG now.

Re: Emery

Well, Cripps, he's the only manager who's ever lost a one-horse race for the title. Emery finished?
