I'd actually be tempted to play Auba up front in this game and play Welbeck on the wing.

Auba looks like he needs a chance to shine and express himself in front of goal.

I know I'm really starting to resent all these international breaks, ruining the flow of our season every few weeks its ridiculous.

I think we played much better with 442 than 4231. Aubameyang is much more dangerous in 442, indeed a real waste in 4231. He is also much more important than Ozil, I real don't see the point to fit Ozil in the middle and waste Aubameyang to the left. I guess it is down to Ozil can play no where else other than AM and his price tag, while Aubameyang can still play decent in a 4231.

Starting:

Leno
Bellerin Sokratis Holding Monreal
Ozil Torreira Xhaka Iwobi
Lacazette Aubameyang

Cech , Mustafi, Kolasinac, Guendouzi, Welbeck, Mkhitayran, AMN

Yup agreed, Laca and auba as a pair would be a nightmare for anyone, ozil can come of the flank anyway

Maybe this is a good opportunity to try 4-4-2

Mkhi/Welbeck - Özil - Iwobi

Because Ozil usually gets raped out wide because he can't hang defending speedy wingers.

I already made a post in the squad tactics thread, 3-5-2 actually fits both Auba up front and Ozil central midfield, that formation would accommodate both players.

I noticed that in the Liverpool game when we went 3-5-2 Iwobi played RWB and Welbeck went up front and you still have 3 in central midfield so Ozil, Xhaka and Torreia can stay in the same positions they do now.

Leno
Mustafi - Sokratis - Holding
Bellerin -Torreira - Özil - Xhaka - Iwobi
Laca-Auba

In a 4-4-2 ozil would be deeper, wouldn't have to track back as much, also when ozil played wide I don't think torreira was playing as much then to back him up.

3-5-2 might be better though, either has to be tried thought, although we have had results I think we have a few more gears we could get out of the squad, putting Laca and auba together will be key to that
