So committed.

I get it, but its best for all involved if he's not going to be reasonable, we can't have this infecting the whole team.

I mean ffs if he wants 250k what does Laca deserve, or Torriea ........... see the issue?

Sh*t like this can hamper a team for years, we need to draw a line for the good of the club.

Just look at Man City player wages, then you see the ludicrous of our players demands.

This is all a result of giving in to Ozil's ridiculous demands though. It's Ramsey now because his contract happened to be up, but I can guarantee you in a year/couple of years Bellerin, Xhaka, Lacazette etc will all be asking for big money too. We opened the floodgates.

You can't sell a player without his consent. He intends to see out his contract.

We had to cave into Ozil’s demands otherwise our clubs reputation would’ve took a nose dive

Imagine losing your two best players in January or the summer on a free, Mesut had all the bargaining power

Luckily he’s a world class talent who won’t really slow down due to age because of his skillset

The fan reaction had we let Alexis & Özil go would’ve been mad, damage control by the club

You lot need to make your mind up.

When we sold van Persie and Cesc and the likes, fans lambasted Arsenal for being a selling club. We finally retained a world class player and now the club is getting slated for overpaying Ozil. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

If you're late to the party, here's a news flash: we obliterated our transfer record for Ozil. We obliterated our wage structure for Ozil.

That tells you all.

Ozil is the exception. Not the rule. Ramsey's ejection and withdrawal of our contract offer reinforces that.

Still not getting the Ramsey Haters....how many players when told they can piss off would be happy to warm the bench and then come on and score s goal like the one against Fulham. It was just sensational!

No ...most players ( in a similar stage of their career)would sulk and even refuse to come on

An exception with massive consequences for all our upcoming contracts. Any established player of some quality we now want to sign will immediately ask for around 250k+. Same for our contract renewals.

On top of that, ozil only performs against midtable opposition. He isn't gonna drag us back to a CL spot. Objectively, it was just bad business for the sake of reputation.

Unless we want to sign Dybala, who is a huge fan of Mesut, no sane agent would demand the same wages as Arsenal's talisman and one of Arsenal's most senior players.

If we're going near £350k, we are either looking at the likes of Dybala as I mentioned, or a marketing name like Pogba or Mbappe. Someone like Neymar or Hazard would demand in excess of £400k unless they're signing for Barca or Real.

We also have Auba and Mkhi who're on £180k and £190k respectively, whereas Lacazette is on £160k from what I gather.

Ozil's our best player, our biggest name, and our most marketable guy. He is an exception. We have already set an example out of Ramsey.

As far as Ozil only performing against mid-table teams, that debate has been shattered by the amount of goals and assists Ozil has against all top clubs. It's pointless and has been debunked.

I said 250k, not the 350k Ozil is making. Enough people will think that entitles them to at least get more than half of what he makes.

As for, our "talisman", he is that in name only. We saw yet again how he does against really good opposition in the first games of the season. He disappears. You can cherrypick some statistics if you want, we've seen him disappear too many times when it mattered. He is a great player, yes. But I don't think he has been perform anywhere near enough to justify ruining our wage structure by receiving double our next best earners salary (or near enough). He would need to be singlehandedly dragging this team to a CL spot for that, and he simply isn't.

Alexis against City, United, and Chelsea. Ozil against Chelsea, United, and Liverpool.

But Santi vs City is arguably the best big game performance I've seen this decade, bar van Persie against Chelsea.
