squeezed a win by the worst team in the league. If you are happy with how bad the team is set up. Then we can point fingers at each other all season and see who will have more right. today is your day. But this team will be 6th-7th at best

Just enjoy the win. :arse fan:

Laca and Auba are a dream tandem. Love them to death.
Defensively we are very shaky, goalkeeper included.
Xhaka must be sold immediatelly. Ramsey + Guendouzi + Torreira is a killer midfield.
Ozil simply not good enough or he doesn't care enough. Either way, should be sold.
We desperately need a winger.

Agree with everything except the Ozil comment.

You do realize Ozil getting on the ball is what pinned Cardiff back because it made our build up play and attacks so incisive?

He changed the came by coming deeper to get on the ball and control play.

Eh, possibly. Don't know. I just expect more from him, I know he's capable of it. Especially in big games.

Btw, imagine Laca + Auba and Alexis on the wing. One can dream.

2/2
6 out of the possible 24pts for this stretch of games we have so that's good

So glad Auba got off the mark, his 1st half was a lil rough again especially with his first touches. I posted about those two Broskis over the summer and somebody said they don't care if they are best buds it's if they can play together that matters which is a fair take but it's just great to see two strikers genuinely happy to see the other succeed.

We're going with Aubazette ?

As if it's relevant how he plays in Man Utd. He was great for us, saved us from mid table mediocrity.

Anyways, IMO, this team competes for the title:

Leno
Bellerin van Dijk Sokratis Monreal
Guendouzi Torreira
Ozil
Mahrez Aubameyang
Lacazette

We are so close, yet so far. Very frustrating.

We're rebuilding. We're not close to anything.
That's what this season is about.
I do not expect many of these players to Arsenal players in 3years, but that is ok. I dont really care about the final league position. It's definitely not going to be top 4 and we're Not going to get relegated. Just want to enjoy game to game and see some improvement.
Today was fun to watch.

Start Torreira in place of Xhaka.

Start Leno.

Stay awake during set pieces.

These three things will go a long way in adding defensive solidity at the back.

Torreira HAS to start now. He is exactly the player we have needed for years. But he must replace Xhaka not Gendouzi.

Leno needs to understudy Cech this season.

I don't know why, I'm just over the moon for this win. We would have drawn this last year.

Scoring goals is the toughest task in football. Exactly why promoted teams struggle to score goals. So we are doing alright as far as scoring goals is concerned. Had we taken our chances against Chelsea we would have got something out of the game.

I think there is plenty to work with from what we have seen so far. A more mobile midfielder, a goal keeper comfortable with the ball at his feet and better understanding and coordination between the defence and midfield should be our go to things. Torreira starting will bring that calmness in the middle of the park. Xhaka looked like he was playing for the opposition today.

4-3-1-2 Seems like the ideal formation with for our current squad:

-Lacameyang or Aubazette as a front 2

-Ozil as a 10

-A midfield three of Guendouzi-Torreira-Ramsey (Ramsey would be so much better as proper disciplined box to box mid instead of tryingo to be a CF, IMO). Lots of energy for pressing right there.

-Our current underwhelming back four

-Cech or Leno (don't think it would make that much of a difference in my opinion, unless Leno is supremely good with his feet, which I don't know)

I honestly think one of the challenges given to Emery when he took the job was to get Xhaka's value up to match what we paid.

This is the only reason I can fathom as to why he's first name on the team sheet for Emery.

He's a fkin liability and should be sold, Elneny is better than him.
